Pembroke
Pembroke Castle, birthplace of Henry VII
It was here at the magnificent castle, that King Henry VII, founder of the Tudor dynasty was born. The town of Pembroke grew up within the town walls parts of which still exist. The castle dominates the town and is a major tourist attraction.
The present day town offers a good selection of shops, cafe’s and restaurants and places to stay.
Just to the east of Pembroke are the ruins of the Bishops Palace at Lamphey. (See section on castles)
